Our Mission

Since its inception in 1958, ABOTA’s primary mission has been the preservation of the right to a civil jury trial guaranteed by the 7th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The Honorable Barbara A. Kronlund is the National ABOTA Champion of Justice!

The National ABOTA Champion of Justice Award honors individuals who advance ABOTA’s mission to preserve the civil jury trial and strengthen the justice system. Nominated by the Sacramento Valley Chapter, Judge Barbara Kronlund was recognized for her outstanding contributions to judicial independence, access to justice, diversity, civility, and public education. Her tireless work has earned national respect and continues to build public trust in the courts.
